Council is committed to community engagement and ensuring that the community is involved in planning and decision-making. This serves to both strengthen the links between Council and the community, ensure we are aware of and responsive to community concerns, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

Community Engagement Framework
Following an extensive review, Warringah Council has developed a community engagement framework. This framework reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to appropriately engaging with the community and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

Community engagement policy Community Engagement Policy provides a broad framework and policy direction for engagement.

Community engagement matrix Community Engagement Matrix provides staff with direction on engagement planning and provides guidance on when and how staff should engage with the community.

Community engagement toolkit Community Engagement Toolkit provides staff with practical guidance and advice on ‘how to’ undertake different types of engagement with the community. It outlines the tasks that should be undertaken and suggests a range of approaches aimed at encouraging community participation.

The Community Engagement Policy, Matrix and Toolkit are guidelines on community engagement that have been developed for Council staff, contractors and consultants.
