The following items will be of assistance for food business operators and people interested in finding more about the requirements if you are, or are thinking about, selling food:

Legislation

The following legislation applies to all NSW food handlers:

            3.1.1 Interpretation & Application

3.2.2 Food Safety Practices & General Requirements

            3.2.3 Food Premises & Equipment

Food Handlers Course: To assist people understanding the NSW food safety laws, Council regularly runs a Food Handlers Course that introduces all of the food handler requirements and helps people to understand the standards.

It is a requirement that all food handlers and those supervising food handlers have the skills and knowledge regarding food hygiene and safety when they start their duties.

Notification of any changes to the business must be kept up-to-date.
