Jamieson Park

Jamieson Park covers 42.8 hectares and is located along the foreshores of Narrabeen Lagoon, bounded by the suburbs of Narrabeen, Wheeler Heights and Cromer. Its distinctive natural setting adjacent to the lagoon provides a natural buffer to surrounding development.
Creek-edge erosion control and planting
Jamieson Park contains nine different vegetation communities including some that have high regional conservation significance and which are poorly represented in adjacent National Parks.
Professional and volunteer bush regeneration has taken place at Jamieson Park since 1990 which is highly impacted by weed infestation and stormwater runoff from adjacent development.
The wildfire event in 1994 had a devastating effect on the park. Large numbers of fire prone trees were killed and weeds became more invasive as a result. Since the fire, contractors have struggled to regenerate the bushland to the condition prior to the fire.
Professional bush regenerators will continue work in the Swamp Oak and Bangalay Forests as well as maintenance work in several other vegetation communities and along creek and drainage lines.
