Below is a list of projects in the former Warringah area and major regional projects.
We are integrating and reviewing how Development Application (DA) services are delivered to our community. From pre-lodgement to decision stage, we will be looking at how these services can be delivered better.

We are planning to upgrade the existing district playground at Brookvale Park, Brookvale. The project is being undertaken as part of Council’s 2016/17 Playground Improvement Program, identified in the Community Strategic Plan(External link) and Open Space Strategy November 2015.
Council regularly provides and renews lease agreements on Council owned or managed land and properties within the Warringah area.

On behalf of NSW Planning & Environment, we are preparing a Precinct Structure Plan for the area around the new Northern Beaches Hospital, to guide future development.

Council sought comments on the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council's (MLALC) Planning Proposal for Ralston Avenue
As an outcome of the 2013 Dee Why South Catchment Flood Study and the 2014 Floodplain Risk Management Study, we are investigating the preferred option to reduce flood risk in Dee Why Town Centre, which is the installation of new drainage pipes in Oaks Avenue.

We are proposing to make some changes to the Warringah Local Environmental Plan 2011 and Warringah Development Control Plan to allow us to implement the recommended infrastructure and developments of the Dee Why Town Centre Masterplan.

To deliver the significant upgrades of the Dee Why Town Centre Masterplan, there will need to be some changes to the way that traffic moves around the Town Centre. This will help to cater for population growth and increased business in the Town Centre.
We are working with Pittwater Council to investigate measures to reduce the impacts of flooding on existing properties and future development in Narrabeen Lagoon catchment.
As part of implementing the Dee Why Town Centre Masterplan we sought comments on the preliminary design plans for Redman Road Plaza.
We considered leasing land adjacent to Warringah Aquatic Centre for an indoor gymnastics centre, and an indoor sports court with associated facilities.

The Tender (RFT 2015/105) for the Lease of Land at the Warringah Aquatic Centre has now been advertised for the purpose of an indoor gymnastics centre / and or sports courts associated uses.
Council has received a Development Application (DA2016/0042) for a mixed use development comprising retail, commercial and residential uses and a child care centre on Site B (Meriton Site) at Dee Why Town Centre.
We are in receipt of Application No. Mod2016/0022 for the modification of Development Consent DA6000/4021 (No 94/380) to provide for three (3) of the approved twelve (12) National Rugby League (NRL) matches on Thursday nights at Brookvale Oval.
The proposal does not constitute designated development. Warringah Council is the consent authority. The applicant is Vaughan Milligan Development Consulting Pty Ltd.

We have undertaken a review of our Development Contributions Plan. The draft Plan Amendment proposes to increase the levy paid by developers for new development in the Dee Why Town Centre to help fund high priority infrastructure works identified in the Dee Why Town Centre Masterplan (2013).
This project has been placed on hold until we have a decision from the Department of Planning.
Council has been looking at ways to improve the parking situation in Queenscliff. We are seeking feedback from the Queenscliff community about parking options in their suburb.

In a review of all of our public carparks, we found that some carparks are not appropriately zoned. As a result, we proposed some changes to carparks.
We are investigating the Community's interest in holding regular markets in Warringah, in particular at The Strand in Dee Why, to help make Warringah a more welcoming, diverse and vibrant place to live.
The NSW Government is requiring us to consider changes to laws governing boat trailer parking and how these apply to the Warringah area. In response, we are developing a Boat Trailer Parking Management Plan.
We are seeking feedback from the community on a proposal to;
- Lease land occupied by the Warringah Golf Course, North Manly Bowling and Recreation Club, and Warringah Recreation Centre and
- Design, construct, manage and operate a Sports and Community Building proposed on the site of the North Manly Bowling and Recreation Club.
Under Section 47A of the Local Government Act 1993, we are considering granting a licence for up to two years for Berry Reserve in Narrabeen for Sunday Monthly Markets. The licencing process has been put on hold due to an expected impact of Transport NSW’s plans for the B-Line bus service (Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)) project in Narrabeen to extend the existing car park at Berry Reserve.
