Young Writers' Competition

Young Writers' Competition 2017

We know there are stories inside your head.

What happens if they’re upside down?

The Northern Beaches Young Writers’ Competition 2017 is now open.

Write an original story using this year’s theme words ‘upside down’ for a chance to be published as an author in a Library eBook. Entries close Wednesday 2 August.

The Competition is open to students up to and including Year 12.

How to enter

Complete the online entry form and attach your story as a Word document or PDF, or print out an entry form and take your story to any Northern Beaches Council Library branch.

Entries will be judged according to characterisation, originality, plot and use of language, and will be arranged into six different age group categories. Winners from each category will be presented with an award at a ceremony on Monday 18 September at the Civic Centre in Dee Why. Winners will also have their stories published in an eBook to be included in the Northern Beaches Council Library collection.
