Information and Referral Services
Council's aim is to assist families to access suitable childcare and other family services in Warringah.
Families who submit a Family Registration Form are eligible to apply for placement at Council's Children’s Services including Long Day Care, Family Day Care and Occasional Care.
Family registration does not guarantee placement at a service, but every effort will be made to provide suitable placement. Offers for placement at Long Day Care Centres to commence in January are made in October/November of the prior year. Vacancies may occur at any time however and placement offers are made as vacancies arise.
Keeping information current gives families the best chance of placement. Please notify changes to circumstances as and when changes occur, including contact details, start date, or days of care required.
Family registration renewal occurs in March and September each year. At this time all families are contacted to update information and renew applications for care. Families who do not renew their annual registration become inactive on the waitlist and are not considered for placement at a service.
The following advice is also provided to assist with placement of your child:
- Be flexible when nominating days and centres/services. Once your child is placed, you are in a position to take up extra days as they become available.
- When registering an additional child, avoid double file entries by advising us of your previous registration.
- Please do not contact the Long Day Care Centres or Family Day Care directly about placement until directed to do so.
