Warringah Aquatic Centre offers a range of gentle water-based and land-based exercise programs that are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.
Our aqua classes are especially suitable for expectant and new mums.
Pre-natal Benefits. Keeping fit and active during pregnancy will help you feel energised and strong, prepare your body for labour and promote a quicker recovery.
Post-natal Benefits. Following the birth of your baby, Aquaerobic exercise will help with your health, relaxation and wellbeing, as well as helping you regain your pre-pregnancy shape.

Water-based Exercise Classes
Aquaerobics (Aqua)
Duration: 45 minute
Aquaerobics is a quick and easy way to improve fitness, mobility, flexibility and conditioning. Excellent cardiovascular and muscle toning workout using the water's resistance. Great for all fitness levels and ages. No booking required.
Deep Water (DW)
Duration: 45 minutes
A quick and easy way to improve fitness, mobility and flexibility using a buoyancy belt. This class is suitable for beginners through to athletes. No booking required.
Water Workout (WW)
Duration: 1 hour
Deep Water Training - personalised attention in a friendly group environment. To gain maximum strength and fitness, all exercises should begin with correct posture. This class focuses on achieving full range of motion in every exercise while maintaining posture and technique. Suitable for beginners through to athletes. No bookings required.
Casual Adult Squad
The Casual Adult Squads and Swimfit programs cater for people wanting to improving their stroke, those wanting to swim to keep fit, and the serious swimmer.

Land-based Exercise Classes
Pilates
Duration: 1 hour
Pilates is a no-impact class designed to improve posture. It elongates and strengthens the muscles resulting in a stronger, more flexible body, and teaches you to be aware of your body's neutral postural alignment and core stability so the body can move safely through a range of exercises. Suitable for young and old, physically active and sedentary. Classes are conducted by a qualified Pilates Instructor and run during the school term only. Bookings are essential. Three sessions per year.
Yoga
Duration: 1 hour
Our program practises Hatha yoga which includes relaxation and meditation techniques to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. Suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Classes are conducted by a qualified yoga instructor. Bookings are essential. Three sessions per year. Bring loose comfortable clothing and a towel.
Seniors Gentle Exercise (SGE)
Duration: 50 minutes
This unique Seniors Fitness
Program provides a gentle
workout including 25
minutes land exercise, 25
minutes water exercise and
afternoon tea. Bookings not required. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring swimwear and a towel.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday - 1.30pm at the Warringah Aquatic Centre
Monday & Fridays - 12.00pm at the Forestville Memorial Hall
One of the goals for seniors is to retain their independence in the later years. Being physically active can maintain joint and muscle integrity, slow down the loss of bone mineral content (osteoporosis) and enhance quality of life.
